Lisa: “I’m a lousy sleeper. I have 17 things in my head that I need to do for work, and I’ll wake in the night thinking of them all. Writing down those thoughts does help, but there are nights when cataloging what’s on my mind isn’t enough. So, on an evening when I start noticing the thoughts bombarding me, I take Racing Mind Relief 30 minutes before bed. It’s a 99 percent success rate for me! Nathan: “There are some nice nervine herbs in Racing Mind Relief, including saffron. There’s been a lot of information coming out about sleep and saffron, but I don’t find it in many other offerings. Many people use valerian, but I’ve found that about 20 percent of the population responds with alertness to valerian, instead of inducing sleepiness. So this formula helps across the board with its inclusion of saffron, lemon balm, passionflower, lavender, and magnesium.”

Lisa: “However, sometimes I can just feel that I’m really going to have a sleepless night, and my back-up plan is the AzureWell Fermented Melatonin. This is my heavy hitter! I don’t want to use melatonin every night, because I don’t want to condition my body to stop producing melatonin. But I like this product a lot for occasional use. When things really aren’t going well, melatonin can break the cycle and give the support I need. I like that this is a liquid for better absorption and better ingredients (don’t bother with the gummies!), and also because you can get a more exact dosage.”
~4. Azure Standard Organic Raw Cacao Nibs (BP825)
Lisa: “Nate puts Azure Market Organics raw cacao nibs in yogurt every morning and in his salad every day at lunch. These cacao nibs add just a touch of sweet flavor, a bit of bitterness, and a delightful crunchiness, so they make a nice topping for many meals. Also, Nate loves chocolate chip cookies, and I’ve come up with a recipe that has all the flavor but less sugar. I replace half the chocolate chips with the nibs, and it’s quite good. Lastly, they’re a nice source of magnesium and help sugar cravings.”

Nathan: “Ahhh, these are a sweet little treat that I enjoy. They’re quite a bit sweeter than cacao nibs, but while I’m working, a small handful between patients gives me a great little boost. The sugar with protein and fat from almonds is a pleasant and filling combination. They’re just delicious, and I eat them regularly.”
